Welcome

We would like to welcome you to St Margaret’s Nursery School. We hope that your child’s introduction to our School is an enjoyable and happy event that is the beginning of a strong and purposeful partnership between home and school.

St. Margaret’s is a Community Nursery School financed by the London Borough of Barnet.

The nursery is housed in spacious Victorian building and has a large outdoor area.

Opened on 13th June 1870, to provide elementary education for the children of the district, it became a nursery school in 1978 and was designated as St. Margaret’s Nursery School and Children’s Centre in 2008.

St. Margaret’s Nursery was judged as outstanding in its most recent Ofsted inspection. You can download the Ofsted report below.

We offer outstanding  nursery education and integrated child care.

Children are entitled to 15 hours a week free education the term after they become three years old.

We are able to offer flexible patterns of attendance to suit family needs.

We offer the fifteen hours flexibly but most children attend either the morning sessions 8.30am - 11.30am or afternoon sessions 12.30 - 3.30pm.

EXTENDED DAY PLACES

We also offer extended day sessions with a range of times available from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm. You can apply for as many or as few extended sessions as you require, but you will only be allocated the places if they are available. There is a charge for extended sessions.

We provide care of the highest quality. Breakfast and tea-time sessions are based in the Sitting Room , which is an attractive, secure and comfortable environment designed to make the children feel at home.

Our Extended day staff understand that children’s needs are different at different times of the day and they provide a variety of activities and experiences that compliment and extend the normal Nursery Curriculum.
